Property Department

The Property Department, where the management unit is one of five units, is responsible for the buildings of Karlstad Municipality. Our mission is to be long-term property owners, contribute to the city's development, and create good environments for the residents of Karlstad. The department delivers attractive, accessible, and sustainable premises for our tenants.

Job Responsibilities

Our property portfolio includes everything from cultural buildings and swimming pools to schools, nursing homes, and offices. As a space planner with us, you will become an important player in the work of proposing suitable premises solutions based on the needs of the operations. You will do this by collaborating with the operations, the municipal management office, other property owners, and colleagues.

The role is broad and varied, which means diverse working days. In this role, you will, among other things:

be responsible for the entire process when a space is rented, i.e., everything from investigating incoming space needs to signing a lease agreement.
be responsible for signing new leases, monitoring terminable leases, and renegotiating existing lease agreements.
write service memos and handle certain lease administration.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience and understanding of space planning. If you also have experience from municipal operations or similar organizations, we see it as an advantage. We expect you to:

have drive and commitment as well as a burning interest in properties.
be meticulous and structured.
have the ability to create good relationships with colleagues and clients.
express yourself well in speech and writing and have good computer skills.
have relevant education, such as a property economist, and/or experience and knowledge of property economics and relevant law or equivalent knowledge that we assess as comparable.
have good financial knowledge.
have a valid driver's license (B).
